In Review: My Favourite Chanel Makeup

Summer and its heat has finally arrived and it’s that time of the year again when my makeup goes to minimal (no one likes a raccoon at the beach or a clown strawberry-picking, am I right?)

I’ll do a post on my favorite can’t-be-without drugstore brands soon on the blog, but for today, I wanted to share a post on my picks for a simplified go-to summer all year-round look using a higher-end makeup brand: Chanel.

Now, I’ve always thought of Chanel as just a sophisticated brand with great luxurious marketing, a hefty price tag, and it being a not-really-for-me-but-older-customer brand. However, since taking a leap of curiosity and trying out their products within the past year, I can honestly say that they really do give you a sophisticated look and help enhance your features – at any age.

While they are on the higher-priced side of the makeup scale, I have come to find that their quality is great and the longevity of the product is just as amazing.  Now, I’m no professional in the makeup-application department (#truth), so I rarely use much of it and I’m convinced that I don’t apply it as I should, but I think the richness of the colors gets me by and the end result is a truly clean, sophisticated look. #winning

All of the products I mention in this post have lasted me about a year now! Except for the eyeliner. The eyeliner went fast (but that’s because it’s just so creamy & bold to not want to use every day!).

Okay, so off we go to the reviews! Read more

Floral Skirt & Street Art

I always love heading back to my hometown in Brooklyn. It is changing so rapidly, but I stay excited when I see things that remain constant (like the graffiti) because it reminds me of my childhood & what I grew up seeing every day. I was back there to see my dad and celebrate his birthday, so I picked up some balloons along the way to surprise him (I’ve come a long way with these balloons and nothing says ‘birthday’ quite like balloons do, right? Right) :).

I was actually in such a rush to get ready that morning (can you tell from the crazy hair?) that I quickly picked out one of my favorite floral skirts from Zara (the cut on it is so flattering!) and paired it with a black top.  The top was actually a long-line side-split shirt (I had to make it work, I was running late!), so I unbuttoned some of the bottom buttons up front, tied it up into two knots and tucked the long tail in the back into my skirt.  I tossed on some nude shoes and voilà – done.

Needless to say, it was a wonderful evening filled with laughter and smiles :).  See more outfit info down below!

April Spring Picks

Ah, April.  The weather is slowly starting to warm up, spring is finally in the air, and I just want that sun to kiss my face all day long! (With some SPF on, of course!).  I am definitely loving the touches of sophistication here; along with the floral details, the fringe that is so in right now, and the lace that I don’t think I will ever get enough of, my arm may be tattooed ‘loren+spring 4 ever’! (Although I don’t know how my husband would feel about that- ha).  Oh, and the Sì scent below… just like a pretty flower :). I love this time of the year! Check out what I’m wishing to add to my wardrobe down below (details even further below :))

cozy spring stroll…

I couldn’t believe the weather app today when I opened it on my phone and it said it was a fabulous sunny 56 degrees! I quickly jumped at the opportunity to wear a light spring dress and layer over it a chunky-ish sweater! Good thing, too, it was sunny but boy was that wind blowing!  Fringe is big this season and it makes an outfit just a bit more playful (and the fact that this bag also has an adjustable strap makes it even more fun – and convenient)! Happy Saturday, all! 🙂
